This is odd. I think the song is absolutely awesome, always beautiful and deep, often sad yet also uplifting at times. I hear many layers packed into one song, one which somehow manages to turn its deceiving simplicity into something beautiful while at the same time daring me to scratch the surface to take a closer look at some darker elements. I don’t know that I’m making much sense, but you will probably have guessed that the video is not at all what I was expecting. I guess that I like that, in a way, as it gives me more food for thought but I’d lie if I said I wasn’t hoping for some sort of affirmation of the way I “understand” the song.
